U.S. singer-songwriter Opir has released a song – A Graveyard of Elephants – criticising the Republican party for its factionalism, internal conflict, and political disarray, which, he argues, has proved disastrous for the U.S.A. Listen to the song, which one blogger has described as “electronic, industrial, sorta hardcore”, on the NME website. Follow this link for the lyrics and Opir’s comments about the song. The final two lines succinctly sums up the thrust of Opir’s argument:
“It’s called the American Dream and you know what this means
That you have to be asleep to believe it.”
